With this cycle of works, Jacques Gassmann transposed the visual impressions of pilots shooting through the atmosphere at supersonic speeds of up to 2 Mach onto canvas.Gassman has succeeded with his ink painting tchnique and unfolds spaces onto canvas, which seem to be of almost cosmic depth. This expanse of immeasurable space becomes the central theme of Supersonic.

Gassmann´s sole concern is with the pilot’s gaze, with his visual and emotional experiences during the high-speed flight. SuperSonic is about visual experiences that remain unseen by most people.
